FASHION

Fashion is one’s intuitive or reactionary expression of one’s interests or fancies in a noticeable way by many in a particular place to attract a special attention from a select group of observers or just like that not being influenced by the external factors or influences at all. Generally it is appreciated and practiced by ones between the age group of 15 and 55. They seek joy from being noticed, appreciated or criticized by others in a great way. They try for identity based on easily understandable, practicable and affordable trends of fashion which last for a few weeks, months or years in a particular society or region or nation. Though fashion and the related lifestyles of many classes and ages of people are spread across almost every region in the human world, France has been known for long for fashion to a great degree, the trends in which are largely observed by others in some nations and appreciated or aped. Generally these creatures use their visible parts of their bodies to exhibit or showcase their sense of fashion. Professionals and professional agencies create, encourage and sustain fashions in different parts of the world aiming a particular section of the people in a given period of time for business or other reasons. Generally those highly involved in observing and practicing the prevalent fashion trends in a given time or place do not contribute substantially to the improvement of lives or resolution of burning issues in their region. For them, fashion means a crazy and delightful style of understanding and leading life for their satisfaction. They don’t mind what others think about them. Most of these crazy lots in many nations are a kind of negligible group when their overall contribution to the intellectual and cultural advancement of their nation is concerned. Contemporary celebrities in the entertainment, sports, politics and business arenas generally create fashion and their admirers and fans follow those trends madly and irrationally for a period of time. Fashion and related lifestyles are considered taboo and avoidable in many religions and orthodox communities across the world.

1. Ongro Bulani visited Rosanthari Avenue in 2004 as a foreign visitor. He observed half-naked male youth in a street making fun among themselves. He asked a native of that place, “Why are they so?” The other replied, “Their favorite film actor walked this way initially when trying for chances in films during this season of the year. Now that gentleman is a world-famous film actor. These crazy guys observe this week as “Jombro Kamosh” aping their hero’s lifestyle.

2. Asilino, a traditional Indian girl, once went to an English film on show in a theater. She observed different haircuts and hairdos on the heads of many boys and girls that came to see that film. She understood after coming out of that theater, “That crazy heroine and hero in this film have no enough hair on their cursed heads. They followed different fashions on their heads using wigs as the last resort. These idiots are aping that fashion now. What a crazy lot? Who can educate them?”

3. Methlyn Suren took his girlfriend Jimnis to an annual festival in Ranglosar. There boys and girls were dancing crazily without clothes on their bare bodies. They applied mud on their chosen parts partly and continued dancing frantically throughout the day and night. Jimnis asked her boyfriend, “What a nuisance? No shame?” Suren replied, “During this festival they dance like this remembering millions of naked children in India without clothes due to their poverty. It is their collective and humanitarian tribute to all the poor in India. I brought here to let you know that girls and boys look more attractive when naked than clothed. I know that you don’t agree to dance with me like this here. What’s wrong if we do it together in our abode? Understand world better. It helps you sense my interests and fancies a little. Why living like humans without a slice of craziness to live differently now and then? She replied, “Let me see if I can help you! I often feel like being crazy for myself or others!”

4. Millions of visitors frequent Poteponi Jagorani every year in March. A month-long celebration takes place in this region to celebrate their fashion trends of that year collectively. Girls and boys close their eyes and allow the visitors to hug or kiss them or do such different things to express their close belongingness to the ones with closed eyes. Thus they practice universal fraternity in a different way for a period of time. It is believed that the highest number of visitors to this festival is Indians from conservative societies and faiths in India.

Tempting tattoos, wild hairstyles, crazy hairdos, bizarre clothes, costly gadgets, beauty contests, films, dramas, cultural shows, exhibitions, magazines, newspapers and such other factors determine the nature and influence of a fashion in a given area for a period of time. An individual’s answer to the question, “What’s wrong if I think and live differently according to my choices and interests now and then or always?” decides how he or she lives applying fashion to his or her life. Since most of these creatures don’t like setting lofty goals and failing to reach them after years of struggle and pain on the way, they choose to make their lives simple, crazy and noticeable in different ways. The result is their devotion to fashion and thus formation of a number of groups attending such activities and pursuits quite frequently. They collectively encourage and defend their causes from the attacks by the conservative societies around them or their governments. They apply the ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity to their lives in a manner delightful and affordable to them. They seldom opt to be educated or enlightened by others.

Every year millions of youth across the world devote most of their time to think about and observe different fashions and their influences in a given period of time. They spend their money, energy and time to ape those fashion trends going against the wishes, orders and directives of their families, societies and governments. Since most of the modern states accord many rights to their citizens to live freely and fearlessly in ways they like, they generally do not consider the demerits of fashion, blindly created or aped by their people, punishable crimes. In most cases, the crazy lots creating and aping fashions are far more open, honest, lovable and sociable than those criticizing and staying away from the thoughts and practices of fashion. Fashion is like a beautiful and fantastic cloud in the wide blue sky, which may form or disappear at any time.
