DEAR SACHIN

Dear Sachin,

You must be celebrating your moments in the aftermath of your retirement from Indian cricket, based on the decision of Indian government to confer Bharat Ratna on you for your achievements over the years as a marvelous player and the crazy applause of Indian media about your related worth. I am sorry to disturb you partly writing this short letter addressing you. In fact, I must write 10 pages describing the greatness of your contribution to India but I think, it is like insulting myself writing about you that many pages. I hate every noted cricketer in India, not just you. So, this is a tribute to all of them also.

Cricket became the biggest infection of Indians today, wherever they are. When thousands of girls and women are leading pathetic lives in India as prostitutes; when thousands of farmers are committing suicides in many parts of India due to their poverty and negligence of state and central governments; when millions of students are playing, discussing and thinking about cricket neglecting any other pursuit which develops them as admirable citizens of India over time; when millions of beggars are appearing in every part of India representing the cruelty of Indians and governments in India; when hundreds of artists and artistes are living like helpless creatures of India; when hundreds of social activists are leading quite ordinary lives in their chosen fields of social service; when thousands of scientists are moving abroad for better opportunities; when thousands of intellectuals stopped thinking and worrying about the development of India considering the nature of Indians promoted by you indirectly; when millions of poor Indians are suffering without basic amenities in their lives and places; when thousands of girls and women are scared to come out at night fearing rapes in this biggest democracy of India; when hundreds of politicians are ruining India through their corrupt and sinful policies and activities; when millions of children are dying in the wombs of their mothers or early in their pathetic lives for lack of proper food and care for them in any part of India; when millions of innocent Indians are being cheated and tortured by police, lawyers and judges in different ways of their complacence and cruelty; when thousands of prisoners are suffering silently in different parts of India finding nobody to help them out and when the entire nation is suffering because of ruined format of democracy in India – you, a young sportsman of India, are celebrating your life and achievements as a cricketer because you did not change India to the better but ruined it further making cricket the game of highest priority in this dirty nation of rogues.

You or any other Indian can be considered a great Indian, according to my criteria, to deserve Bharat Ratna, if he or she partly or fully belongs to the race of achievers mentioned below. Assess yourself!

Patriots: Who struggled, suffered and sacrificed their lives for the sake of their motherland.

Scientists: Who invented or discovered anything that largely contributed for comforts and happiness of humanity and billions of other creatures.

Farmers: Who are regularly working on farms to provide food to their brothers and sisters in the nation.

Saints: Who are safeguarding and guiding their people, with sinful souls, to move towards salvation.

Doctors: Who are bringing happiness into lives of many patients, not finding time for their personal lives and comforts.

Artists: Who are struggling and suffering continuously in many creative and ideal pursuits related to influential education and healthy entertainment of their people.

Social reformers: Who are changing the culture and thought processes of their races in a generation or forever.

Visionaries: Who are planning and working for the development of their nations and happiness of their people rigorously when millions of their contemporaries are whiling away their time like beasts and loafers.

They help humanity substantially. They serve animals and birds and all such other creatures also a great deal through their thoughts and activities. They are representatives of God on this holy land of the earth planet.

My question is ‘How did you contribute to sustainable development and happiness of India through playing cricket for all these years, in comparison to the ones described above?’.

You earned money and enjoyed your status as an undesirable celebrity of a poor nation. This is why you deserve Bharat Ratna?

Mad rogues may offer you that highest Indian civilian honor but how can you accept it if you are a real Indian, who takes only that, which he really deserves for what he did over the years?

India should not make any sports or game, a matter of national importance, and spend thousands of crores of rupees, as long as there is suffering and pain in any part of India, caused by our negligence.

If India is my family, and if all Indians are my brothers and sisters, how can I spend an invaluable 1000-rupee note for gambling of some order when my father, mother, brother and wife are bedridden because of a problem? I can play outside when they are well and my endeavor must be to keep them comfortable and happy if I am a real Indian. Sports and games are like appendix in the body of a nation. Unfortunately we are bearing with it. Then, where is the need to appreciate it specially through awards and honors?

Mr. Sachin, hope you understood my concern about India and Indians. I have no grudge against you as a person. I mean that we don’t deserve Bharat Ratna for ruining the lives of an entire race in a given period of time.

If you want to counter my views, both of us can talk on any platform in any part of India. I am not hiding anywhere like a thief or terrorist. I am accessible to you. Come; let’s talk before ruining India further!
