Chiranjeevi: Are you satisfied with the position of prime minister of India?
Manmohan: There is difference between personal and professional life. In both, we need to compromise a lot. We should not impose our interests and fancies on others. I am not happy with my political career since the beginning. I have many ideas and dreams for a better India but when it comes to implementation, I cannot make everybody around me think and act like me. I am not happy as a prime minister of India because democracy is not getting successful here. Most of the politicians and bureaucrats are selfish, narrow-minded and dishonest in India. Many of the systems of governance got corrupt and unethical during the last 60 years. In India, freedom, equality and fraternity are not being offered and enjoyed by all. It happens only when every Indian, from ordinary man to leaders, live with virtues. Prime minister is not a magician or God. He is a mere role player.
Chiranjeevi : An intellectual, scholar and idealist like you should not live like a dummy figure in the highest seat of Indian politics. Why are you killing your individuality and values in this respect?
Manmohan: We do many things without our personal interest. I know that I am achieving almost nothing in this position. I often feel like avoiding this path of hardships and tension forever because it is unnecessary struggle for me. To respect the request of others, I am continuing in this position. Physically and mentally I am tired a lot. I know that I cannot change India and the mentality of Indians that easily. I am eagerly waiting to get rid of this risky and burdensome task.
Chiranjeevi: Why should Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka remain in India as successors of family politics of Congress?
Manmohan: I too often wonder about this reality. They can live happily in Italy or India leaving politics forever. I don’t know why they are intentionally applying this ugly mire on them. They too know that Indians are not interested in any one particular politician or their activities. They consider a shepherd and a party president alike in their private lives. They have no respect or affection for politicians. For them a politician is a ‘shameless, dishonest, illegal, immoral, insensitive and unkind idiot authorized to exploit the systems and citizens under him or her’. In this horrible atmosphere of India, politicians should be ashamed of themselves, considering their image in the nation at large. We are spending a lot of money to procure shameless people to attend our worthless public meetings. People are not interested in our meetings means they lost passion for our presence and words. Since we don’t have self-respect and self-criticism to a little extent also, once we become and continue to live as politicians, we don’t worry about the affection or respect of ordinary Indians for us. We love political power and the false prestige associated with it. Newspapers should write about us. Television channels must be telecasting something good or bad about us. We must go to other countries as representatives of India. I think Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka also cannot get this much public show and artificial respect from fellow sheep if they remain away from mainstream politics. Perhaps this is why they are struggling to remain in mainstream politics. Also, Indians are like brainless sheep. They choose their leaders based on irrational and illogical sympathy for others. I should call Indian democracy ‘a terrain of sympathy politics’. Intellectuals, visionaries, scientists and patriots are not identified and respected in Indian politics. We respect our guests more than our family members. It is our essential Indian culture. I think India ruins within days if Rahul or Priyanka does not become the prime minister of India soon. They are chosen by God to rule us. God sends a set of families into this world in every age to rule us. We are destined to be ruled by them. I have to obey to their family in this lifetime though I don’t know about my next life. This is an established system of slave mentality in Indian politics. Theirs is a divine family. They sacrificed their lives for India. I salute them. I will do anything for them. They are my divine masters.
Chiranjeevi: There is no law and order in India. Police, lawyers, judges and courts of law failed to create a peaceful and orderly system of life in India for every Indian. Why this much anarchy?
Manmohan: I think a soul takes a birth due to the good and bad things it committed in a series of past lifetimes. We call it Karma. We need to suffer or celebrate our lives in this lifetime based on what we did earlier. There is pain and suffering in every age. No human being is completely happy or sad in any lifetime. Be it democracy, autocracy, communism or any other system of government, everybody needs to suffer. It happens due to individual and collective Karma. Police are authorized slaves and servants to politicians and other influential people in India. Lawyers argue cases for money and professional prestige. They are not interpreters and upholders of Dharma. Judges interpret old laws and contemporary scenario of occurrences in delivering justice to others in various cases. They don’t do it applying their conscience, rational thinking or common sense. They want solid proofs but not sensitive human beings or their hopeless and helpless lives. Even criminals, sinners and fraudsters can live happily in India depending on the current system of judicial system. Different courts of law give different judgments at different times. So, it is like a circus. Nobody knows when the game was started and when it may end in near future. Our lawyers and judges are not capable of writing a new constitution for India. They are professionals, who want money and comforts in their personal and professional lives. They are not bothered about India or ordinary Indians. What happens to them if ordinary Indians suffer and die every day? They are not their relatives. They are interested in their personal lives only and not the fate of India and Indians. They ruined India during the last 60 years making the legal system one of the worst in the world. Most of the lawyers and judges cannot write a letter also well in English or their mother tongue. What can they do for India? Indians should not depend on police, lawyers, judges and courts of India for justice. If we check the history of achievements of judiciary during the last 60 years, we realize that they take years and decades to finalize a civil or criminal case. They are known for adjournments. They are known for immoral arguments and illegal activities. They argue on behalf of notorious criminals, dangerous killers and cruel rapists also. It means they are not representatives of Dharma but shameless beggars in Indian democracy. Their donors are helpless victims of Indian society. They keep asking for more and more money until the victim dies. Many die before the judgment arrives. Lawyers encourage victims to move from court to court clearly knowing that it is favorable to them financially and avoidable to clients psychologically. I cannot advise such manipulative and dishonest lawyers and judges to think for ordinary Indians because they may drag me to some court of law for making such unnecessary remarks about their personal lives and professions. I think Ram Jethmalani is not aware of my presence and these honest comments here. You know his history.
Chiranjeevi: What is the contribution of Telugu film actor Chiranjeevi to Indian politics?
Manmohan: He is suffering from a sense of low self-esteem. He is not satisfied with what he could achieve as a film actor. He tarnished his image after entering politics. He talked a lot about social justice initially. He mingled with us to realize his dreams. His innermost burning desire is to be in limelight always. He understood that it is possible as a politician only after crossing 60 and becoming a senior citizen with weak limbs. So, he waited a lot to become the tourism minister of India. Media is talking about him. He is making some announcements now and then. He is going to foreign countries. He must be getting money indirectly like any politician does. These are all his agenda. He acted as a social reformer and idealist in some films but everybody knows what he is really. He is a shameless opportunist. Even his fans and admirers accept it publicly. He loves political power like any average politician of India. He is not a special person or professional in any way. You know the nature and characteristics of all politicians in India. He is one of those politicians suffering from identity crisis. Even a tourism course graduate can do his work. This is the case with almost all portfolios here. A set of IAS officers and their subordinate staff prepare those speeches and other official documents. We read them out as shameless dogs and bitches.
Chiranjeevi: Do you love art and artists?
Manmohan: I lost passion for art and artists after entering politics. My colleagues, over the years, appeared as better actors and actresses than those I am seeing in film and television industry now. They maintain different identities. They smile and cry artificially depending on a situation. They look like patriots and visionaries while talking on stages and their villainous attitude surfaces when they are beyond public stages. Easy money, political power and burning desire for wide public applause makes them into trained magicians and absolute liars. They tell many beautiful lies but present them as shocking truths. I love classical art forms but where is time for me to listen to classical music or watch a classical dance. My colleagues at centre and in states turned me into an automated machine in course of time. I smile at them for courtesy sake. I talk with them for formality sake. I became a great actor over the years. When I am an artist, why should I desire to be in touch with other artists and artistes? Films and dramas last for a few hours. Politics is a long play. I am playing my imposed and composed role extraordinarily concealing my real qualities as a scholar, dreamer and visionary of India. Am I not a good artist? Don’t you love my acting skills!
Chiranjeevi: Many central and state employees have fixed retirement age but no politicians?
Manmohan: Politicians are like shameless dogs and bitches in India. You call them any names checking their characters and activities as politicians, they don’t worry about it. You may spit on their faces but they don’t mind it. They have no self-respect. They cannot live beyond the stage of worthless politics and so they linger on to it only as long as their limbs keep moving from a place to another place slowly at least. I am one in case to be studied from this perspective. Even as a very senior citizen of India, I am shamelessly doing the casual job of prime minister. Even Vajpayee must desire to become the prime minister of India for the second time but because he is into creative field, he must be satisfied writing poetry in Hindi and understanding the real state of his body. Politics is like a cure-less infection and endless commotion. Only natural or accidental death is the medicine and salvation for it. There are many old and worthless political idiots in Andhra Pradesh also. They crave for Rajya Sabha seats even after crossing 70 and 80 years of age. Even street dogs don’t visit their houses and offices if they don’t remain in active politics. There are many advantages associated with the position of an MLA and MP like pension, free travel and so. Even beggars are better than these nasty politicians. Beggars stop moving in streets shamelessly when their limbs are weak but politicians take the help of others and keep moving in the slippery and muddy ground of dirty and nasty regional and national politics. We have no retirement age because we are not ordinary human beings but sinners cursed by God. We impose rules and regulations on other employees but don’t apply those norms to our political lives. I pray God to make me a bird or animal in my next lifetime in some country like Siberia but not at all India. I come to India now and then as a seasonal migratory bird and go back. We cannot enjoy living in India as permanent residents or citizens but as temporary guests only. This is why many Indians and other nationals are migrating to nations like USA, UK, Canada, Denmark and New Zealand. What is there in India except shameless politicians, worthless celebrities, manipulative businessmen and stupid citizens?
Chiranjeevi: Why is Indian government spending a lot of money for sports when there are many other burning issues requiring a lot of funding and planning? Does any Indian die if sports are not conducted at state and national level that seriously?
Manmohan: I know about your aversion for cricket and those playing it at national level. I agree that cricket became the biggest disease of India over the years. When the citizens of other countries are thinking and working to achieve sustainable development in their places, Indians are spending their time playing and discussing cricket and such other games and sports. They spend any amount of money for tickets to watch a cricket tournament live in a stadium but ask them for a rupee from each citizen of India to repay the loans of the state and central governments. They simply say ‘why should I give? They earn money in any way and spend it in some way. This is their serious lifestyle and casual philosophy. Since cricket does not make them think and question anything happening in their state, nation or world, they enjoy it. Even politicians want to make their subjects into worthless idiots. Cricket is contributing tremendously in this direction. Children play cricket whenever they have time. Employees watch cricket passionately. Even old people discuss it as pensioners. Sports and games are avoidable in India but I cannot do it. Sports and reservations are inevitable infections of India. If somebody proposes the ban of these bitter realities in India, he or she would be treated as a dangerous, mad and avoidable living entity of India. When 80% of Indians think and act like brainless sheep and worthless pigs, the advice and contribution of thinkers, scientists, social reformers, social activists and patriots looks like rubbish to them ultimately. So, in a psychiatric hospital, meant for mentally sick persons, doctors appear like lunatics to patients. So, unfortunately and helplessly, kind doctors allow those patients to live with those identities and psyches only.
Chiranjeevi: Do you think that India became a knowledge-driven society?
Manmohan: Certainly. Graduates are studying hard to become IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS officers. They want money and prestige in society. So, they are reading books for becoming those officers. Girls are getting knowledge on how to send SMS, beautifying themselves in parlors, consuming cigarettes and liquor like men, wearing different gold ornaments, walking on ramps and so on. They are also using knowledge for their public show of material worth. Males are increasing their knowledge on how to give bachelor parties, comment rudely about their unfamiliar women and exploit the systems of governance. They are dancing in clubs. They are maintaining different kinds of hairstyles and lifestyles. Chartered accountants turned into trained cheats after doing those courses. Doctors are prescribing unwanted medicines and surgeries for their helpless and innocent patients. Even ordinary Indians are listening to film songs on their cellphones in toilets and temples also. Everybody is using knowledge to cheat somebody else or many every day. Check how all are earning money now in India. They found ways to publicly cheat everybody. I cheat you. You will cheat me sometime, somewhere, when you get an opportunity to cheat me. So, we got a lot of knowledge on how to tell beautiful lies and cheat others easily. See the ads on television. Ninety percent of these ads are made to misguide and cheat consumers in every part of India. It is certainly a knowledge-driven society. Before independence, many desired to live as admirable Indians, practicing honesty and bravery but now we are using dishonesty and hypocrisy to live cheating others shamelessly. We started acting even before our gods and goddesses in temples.
Chiranjeevi: What do you mean by democracy as you experienced it in India so far?
Manmohan: It is a constitutionally authorized system of exploitation wherein the cruel and the influential establish and continue such policies and formats of public rule that the innocent, the voiceless and the virtuous suffer hopelessly and helplessly throughout their lives and professions. It is an opportunity for the rich to exploit the poor. It is an opportunity for the politicians to loot public money. It is an opportunity for bureaucrats to ruin the lives of people directly or indirectly. Criminals and sinners are not afraid of police, lawyers and courts of law because they know that they can do anything with money and influence in India. Ordinary people are scared of resorting to police, lawyers and courts of law because they know that they further get victimized, harassed, humiliated and looted there. Girls and women cannot live freely because any rapist or sadist may attack them anytime in any place. Psychopaths can live happily because lawyers argue on behalf of them and courts of law entertain such cases happily. Private firms don’t follow labour laws and so employees have to work on Sundays and nights also if the employer orders them to do so. They may or may not get salaries for their hard work in some cases. No labour officer interferes in these matters. Any land can be grabbed by chief ministers, other ministers and corporate giants in the country. New companies come up and farmers and artisans become daily wage workers there. Any harmful beverage, pesticide, medicine or food item can be made and sold freely in India. State and central governments don’t bother about the health and safety of their citizens but more and more money in the form of taxes and otherwise. Students would be treated like machines in schools and colleges and so struggle for more marks, grades and ranks but not able to live like children in their homes and outside. Nobody advises mechanical and commercial parents to treat their children as sensitive and vulnerable little creatures first. Husbands can have any number of illegal and immoral physical contacts with other girls and women outside but once back at home they behave like Lord Rama. Youth can play like mad dogs and bitches in their parties and clubs. They enjoy freedom, achieved by Mahatma Gandhi and such innocent patriotic Indians once, in this manner. For them modernity means ‘smoking, drinking, debauchery, crazy parties and harmful functions’. No police or lawyer has right to interfere in their personal and professional lives. They have different definitions for ‘culture’. What do I say about democracy? There is so much to talk and write about it. Everything is possible in a democratic country like India. One may disuse or misuse one’s freedom in any manner. We should not advise them to live like a human being. They say that we are insulting them if we interfere in their personal lives. They drive vehicles madly on roads. They spit on public buildings. They comment badly about others publicly. What not? In democracy, we allow a set of human beings to transform themselves into beasts and torture others mercilessly. Law and order is a corrupt and ineffective system of shameless public servants and age-old statutes. Politics is a polluted, contaminated and disfigured field of idiots, rogues, hypocrites, businessmen, sinners and criminals. Education is a huge business area in which humans turn into machines. Temples are centres of commercial orientation and business. Religion attracts lunatics widely with false promises and attractive words. Terrorists would be accorded royal treatment by courts and governments and ordinary citizens commit suicides being unable to live simply as employees or citizens of the nation. Justice is years and decades away from any ordinary Indian. Let him or her suffer, cry and die. It is just news in newspapers and televisions. State and central government employees are the biggest network of fraudsters. Private firms and agencies further cheat and loot employees and ordinary people through different schemes and scams. We observe everything. We read everything. We know about everything. We remain as helpless and hopeless witnesses of all these disorders and demerits in our shallow democratic country. Other countries and international agencies don’t interfere in our affairs because ours is a sovereign republic. We cannot change our fate individually or collectively because we are all dirty and nasty Indians in the core of our hearts and minds. We watch events, disasters and tragedies as they happen before us regularly. We don’t change to the better nor allow others to change us. This is what I have been experiencing in India for the last 30 years.
Chiranjeevi: Lord Shiva stopped dancing. Maha Shiv Raathri is coming to an end. Let’s be off.
Manmohan: Thank you for your metaphysical encounter with the voice of my soul this way.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I conducted this interview with the soul of Dr Manmohan Singh, the present prime minister of India, during late night hours on 10 March, 2013, in a part of the Himalayas, when Lord Shiva was dancing passionately on His special day and when millions of Indians were worshiping Him on that special day and night for them.
