CLASSIC TELUGU FILM SONGS

Those interested in savoring the melody of classic Telugu cine songs can listen to these songs given below.

I believe that classic songs were written by veterans like Acharya Athreya, Aarudra, Dr. C Narayana Reddy, Veturi Sundara Rama Murthy, Sri Sri, Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry and the like. I am not mentioning the names of present young lyricists here because I did not hear many of their songs till now.

Lyricists are admirable creative stars of our times. Film songs are the most influential literary and musical pieces in the latter half of the 20th century and now. There are extraordinary lyricists and music directors in all languages in India. However, films are highly produced in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The number of films produced in Bengali, Oriya, Marathi, Gujarati and other regional languages seem to be comparatively less in number.

I think it was Bengalese that produced classic films in India so far because they think differently about life, human relationships and the influence of art on society.

I have to collect about 1000 classic Telugu film songs as early as possible because they take me into the level of elevation I need while involved in some kinds of writing. I will collect some 1000 songs from other languages later.

Extraordinary music and songs inspire the spirit of all kinds of sensitive and sensible creatures in the world. I believe there are about 2000 classic songs from the Telugu film industry spanning a period of about 70 years. Most of these masterpieces were produced some time between 1967 and 1987 according to my choices and preferences. The rest are considerable but not admirable for me.

I believe S P Bala Subrahmanyam, P Susheela, S Janaki, S P Sailaja and K J Yesudas sang the most melodious, extraordinary, classic and inspiring songs for Telugu films in the period specified above. Ilayaraja created masterpieces. I am his mad admirer.

I consider Bapu, K Viswanath, Vamsy and Jandhyala great directors in the Telugu film industry. There are even some other great directors but the list is big and so not mentioning here.

Every Indian that goes to see a film in a cinema owes a lot to all these producers, directors, lyricists, singers, musicians and all other artists and technicians related to the Indian film industry. I believe the most influential and inspiring art form in the latter half of the 20th century and now is the film industry in India. I am mad for films and songs. If God gave me enough money and time to enjoy my life without doing anything hard and worthwhile on my part, I prefer to keep watching every great film produced in India during the last 40 years and listen to those inspiring and soothing cine songs. This is heaven for me on this earth.

I think the artists and technicians of Kerala produced great films in Malayalam in South India in comparison to any other language. I find Malayalam language classic in pronunciation. There is inspiring music in this language itself and everybody can’t speak that language perfectly. It is tough and musical to learn and practice. I am writing this based on my little understanding after listening to some of their songs and their language by some people from Kerala.

I find Tamil rough in pronunciation. It seems to be a language of masses. Kannada and Telugu languages are manageable and decent, not extraordinary for me.

Anybody can learn Hindi fast. I don’t know much about other languages.

If you want to be happy always, keep reading good books, listening to classic and soothing music to your ears and be in touch with such friends, relatives and well-wishers only whom you think to be great in some sense.

There are classic songs in almost every Indian language in which films are produced. There is no scarcity of artists and technicians in India but their supporters and admirers.

An artist creates a piece of art, be it song, music, painting, film, drama, play, playlet, story, novel, dance and so on to be recognized, encouraged and appreciated by others.

If some of us are not artists or technicians of a great stand, it means God wanted us to be either art supporters or admirers. These roles are better and cooler than those of artists and technicians.

An artist or technician of great stand and fame seldom enjoys his or her personal life because he or she spends most of it to think and work on creative and innovative pursuits to entertain others extraordinarily, assuming that this world perishes soon if he or she does not do something always. We are lucky to have such artists and technicians across India. We are all happy because of them. Great art entertains all equally in all times.

Below are a few of my favorite Telugu cine songs, among a 1000 ones, some of which are yet to be collected by me. The first is the beginning of a song and the latter, the name of the film concerned. All songs are extraordinary in some films. I specified them that way.
